Mental Health in Events: GERX Partners with EventWell
New Mental Health First Aid Training Launching Q3 2025
The event industry is often glamourised for its high-energy atmosphere, but behind the scenes lies an intense, fast-paced environment known for long hours, high stakes, and emotional burnout. Recognising this growing concern, GERX LIMITED has proudly partnered with EventWell, the UK’s leading mental health advocate in events, to launch a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training programme for our team and collaborators.
What is MHFA and Why Does It Matter?
Mental Health First Aid is a globally recognised training course designed to help people spot the signs of mental health issues, offer initial help, and guide individuals toward appropriate support. For event professionals—often operating under tight timelines, logistical stress, and emotionally charged environments—having trained personnel on site can make all the difference.
EventWell’s MHFA programme includes:
-
Recognising signs of anxiety, burnout, or crisis in teams and guests
-
Managing high-pressure situations with empathy
-
Creating wellness support zones at event sites
-
Post-event mental wellness debriefs
By launching this initiative, GERX becomes one of the few event firms in the UK with mental health-trained staff on site—an added layer of assurance for clients and team members alike.
Why It’s Needed in Events
Whether it’s an overworked crew member behind the stage or a VIP guest experiencing an anxiety attack in the crowd, mental health challenges often go unnoticed until they escalate. With our MHFA-trained team, we’ll now be equipped to respond not just logistically—but humanely.
This move aligns with global shifts across industries where mental well-being is becoming a core KPI, not just a side note. As events increasingly cater to diverse, inclusive audiences, emotional safety is as critical as physical safety.
Launching Q3 2025: What to Expect
The training will roll out in September 2025, starting with our internal operations staff, followed by freelance partners, vendors, and collaborators. Over the next 12 months, GERX aims to have at least one MHFA-certified professional at every event we manage.
Additionally, we plan to launch a client-facing wellness package—including mindfulness corners, decompression lounges, and stress-management kits for large-scale events.
Conclusion
Events should be places of joy, inspiration, and connection—not hidden stress. By partnering with EventWell, GERX is taking a bold step toward building an event culture that values emotional well-being just as much as flawless execution. Because great experiences should feel good—for everyone involved.
